We are thrilled to announce that A Sardinian Feast in East London returns to Mora on Wednesday 16th May!
We have been looking through family recipes, searching and exploring traditional and modern ways to cook some classic dishes, experimenting with some of the best seasonal ingredients to create a new mouth-watering menu to spotlight the variety of flavours, scents, and aromas Sardinia has to offer. There was so much to choose from that it took us a while, but we have now finalised a four course menu, focused this time on fish and vegetarian dishes.
The experience wouldn’t be complete without wine, so we have carefully selected a set of excellent wines to complement the flavours of each course of this tasty meal.

At the end of last year we announced there would be some great surprises to watch out for in 2018.
We are really excited to unveil our very first one! In the last few weeks we have been really busy organising our first special event of the year.
We are really pleased to invite you to A Sardinian Feast in East London on 1st March!
Our chef Carlo designed a tempting menu boasting some of the best Sardinian ingredients to delight your senses and get your teeth into understanding the breadth and variety of flavours, scents, and aromas this amazing island has to offer through a tasty four course meal.

The Grand Tour – Chapter 2
"Locavore" is probably one of the most trendy foodie terms right now. In Italy, though, this is simply the way it has been for centuries. Italian food is a simple cuisine based on the freshest ingredients available and its dishes are deeply rooted in the Italian culture, with recipes usually passed down between generations and treasured for their authentic origins.
There is a detailed, fascinating painting of history, customs and trends for the myriad of popular Italian delicacies and dishes across the different regions and cities.
This is what inspired our Grand Tour , a foodie journey across culture, tradition and taste. We have explored each regional speciality with a mixture or curiosity and nostalgia, always learning more about the local flavours, ingredients and cooking methods.
To recap the second part of this food travelling, we can imagine a crawl from the most southern tip up along the Adriatic coast and high up the Dolomites.
Sipping Primitivo in Puglia, we ate creamy burrata with truffle, orecchiette with octopus and super filling bombette. Molise offered simple but amazing flavours, with a superb fiatone filled with salami, pecorino and goat cheese and crioli with walnut and baccala’. Going up along the coast and across the mountains of the park of Abruzzo, we discovered the delicate taste of their Pecorino wine, while eating a luscious millefeuille filled with zabaione and fresh figs. In the Marche region our palate felt an enveloping softness and a sensation of long lasting fullness thanks to Verdicchio di Matelica’s typical bitter almond aftertaste. Continuing the journey up north, along the beaches of Romagna and inland across the Pianura Padana we reached the region that is arguably considered the cradle of Italian food: Emilia Romagna, with its cured meats and delightful tortellini. More fresh pasta goodness awaited us on the other side of the Pianura Padana: delicious casoncelli were certainly the stars of the show in Lombardia, even better when accompanied by a good glass of Trebbiano di Lugana directly from the banks of Lake Garda. A bite of creamy sbrisolona crumble tart and we were ready to climb the Alps. Up in the Dolomites, Trentino Alto Adige greeted us with their South Tyrolean aperitif Hugo, fresh and sparkling like their mountain streams. On the other side of the Dolomites, risotto with langoustine and a Sacher Torte of Austrian influence treated us to a great meal. Our tour in mainland Italy couldn’t end in better style: Venice and the Veneto region awaited us with sparkling Prosecco and cicchetti di baccalà mantecato e polenta.
What a journey! We’ll take a little break in December, when the Christmas atmosphere will rule, until our holidays.
But don’t worry, our gourmet travel is not over: a Grand Tour of Sardegna is coming in January, get ready to explore its rich flavours for a whole month with us!

Since the cold days started, we have been searching for new seasonal ingredients, testing new recipes and innovating old ones. All the research works for our Grand Tour has also been an amazing source of inspiration, an incredible opportunity to apply our creativity to the immense Italian gastronomic heritage through a full insight on traditional flavours.
Get ready to celebrate the cold months with us, we will reveal some of the dishes soon! But believe us, it is worth getting excited for!
We’ll be offering brand new, hearty, full-flavoured dishes designed to keep you warm and delight your senses.
Long-standing favourites will still be on the menu, including, among others, our popular melanzane alla parmigiana and pappardelle with wildboar ragout, no doubt!

The Grand Tour – Our journey so far
From the various types of sun-blessed grapes and grains covering Italy’s hillsides, to the beautiful olive trees and often priceless tubers rooted for centuries in its rich soils, produce depicts a very detailed culinary map of the Italian mainland, as well as seafood-blessed beaches and islands.
Always synonym for good food, boasting a unique explosion of flavours, scents, and aromas, as well as one of the most famous cuisines in the world, Italy also offers an immense variety of different regional dishes and recipes. Arguably more than anywhere else in the world, food is remarkably site specific there, providing a great excuse to get out, explore and eat.
This is how the Grand Tour started at Mora Restaurant, a journey through Italy’s enogastronomic culture, in search of ancient recipes, genuine products, and simple food inspired by classic Italian cooking and innovative creations. Our aim is to explore Italy with our customers, through the flavours and perfumes of its gastronomic treasures, by offering a set of weekly special dishes inspired by each of the regions.
We started high up in the heart of the Alps, with its unmistakable mountain flavours, the fontina cheese and the herbs from Valle d’Aosta, crawling down towards the Barolo hills of Piemonte to eat amazing ravioli and hazelnuts desserts, tasting the fishermen soup (buridda) in Liguria, having a bite of sweet panforte in Toscana. Stopping in each region for about a fortnight, we kept going down the western side of the peninsula, eating lake fish specialities in Umbria, getting to Rome (all the roads lead there, don’t they?) to savour gnocchi alla romana among other renowned specialities from Lazio, and then to Campania to taste amazing seafood dishes and golden-crusted mozzarella in carrozza. Our trip got spicy in Calabria, with ‘nduja and all its chilly-based recipes, and then dark and luscious in Sicily with cuttlefish and black ink risotto, and almond and pistachios delicacies. We have reached the most southern tip of the Italian boot, and it’s now time to move up along the other coast, just after our current stop in Basilicata and its simple but hearty cuisine.
